The short version. Some of the deals in bricktab use affiliate links. If you buy through one, bricktab may earn a small percentage of the sale, at no extra cost to you. That income, together with clearly labelled sponsored placements, keeps bricktab free.
How bricktab earns money
bricktab is free to install and free to use. Running it still costs money, so it is supported in two ways: affiliate links on some deals, and sponsored placements paid for by advertisers. There is no paid tier and we do not sell personal data.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is an ordinary link to a shop that also tells the shop the visit came from bricktab. If you then buy something, the shop may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to the shop directly.
We take part in affiliate programmes run by retailers and by affiliate networks. The programmes we work with change over time, which is why they are not listed one by one here.
How we label things
Every card in the Brick Deals tab says what it is:
- Deal. A retailer discount or promotion. The link may be an affiliate link.
- Sponsored. A placement an advertiser has paid for.
- Our pick. Something we simply think is worth a look. The link may or may not be an affiliate link.
In the news feed, paid placements carry a Sponsored label, are announced as sponsored to screen readers, and their links are marked for search engines as sponsored. The Brick Deals tab also shows a short disclosure with a link to this page.
Editorial independence
Money does not decide what the news feed shows. Stories come from independent publishers and are ranked by freshness and by readers' likes. Sponsored cards sit in their own slots and have no effect on that ranking.
We choose deals because we think they are good value for brick fans, whatever the brand, and we list deals that earn us nothing alongside those that do. We do not accept payment to describe a product more favourably than we otherwise would.
Prices and availability
Deals change quickly. Prices, discounts, promo codes and stock can change or end after we publish them, and they can differ between countries. Always check the final price and conditions on the shop's own site before you buy.
Cookies and tracking by shops
bricktab does not set advertising cookies. When you follow an affiliate link, the shop or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so the sale can be attributed to us. That happens on their site, under their own privacy and cookie policies. We receive totals, such as the number of sales and the commission earned, and never learn who bought what.
Not affiliated with the LEGO Group
bricktab is an independent fan project. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse bricktab. Taking part in a retailer's affiliate programme does not mean that retailer endorses bricktab.
